"You must love all that God has created, both His entire world and each tiny little sand grain of it, then your mind will open itself to an all embracing love." Fyodor Dostoyevsky

"The Invitation" by ~Oriah Mountain Dreamer

As the well spring flows out of me like a mountain stream that has no boundaries... I linger... here and there...
He never leaves nor forsakes me... I feel His presence... He speaks to my heart...

Today...   "Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart." 2 Chronicles 32:31

"God, by the power of his almighty grace, could have prevented the sin; but he permitted it for wise and holy ends, that, by this trial and his weakness in it, he might know, that is, it might be known (a usual Hebraism), what was in his heart, that he was not so perfect in grace as he thought he was, but had his follies and infirmities as other men. God left him to himself to be proud of his wealth, to keep him from being proud of his holiness. It is good for us to know ourselves, and our own weakness and sinfulness, that we may not be conceited or self-confident, but may always think meanly of ourselves and live in a dependence upon divine grace. We know not the corruption of our own hearts, nor what we shall do if God leave us to ourselves. Lord, lead us not into temptation. " Charles Spurgeon
Tonight...
"Soul desire seeks to push the edge in the places where we have drawn a line in the sand saying, “This is where I will not go, this is what I will not risk.” And what is easy for one may be hard for another. Wherever we have draw the line, the risk of crossing it feels very real. We risk failing to fulfill our desires, of being exposed for our deepest yearnings. We risk mistaking one desire for another, only to arrive at fulfillment held in the arms of disappointment. Sure that we ache for time apart we may walk away from another only to find our yearning unmet in aloneness. Reaching for the other with whom we can share life we may plunge into a relationship that brings us face to face with a loneliness we have never known in solitude. To move we have to allow ourselves to be the fool, the one who does not know, who starts again and again at the beginning." ~Oriah Mountain Dreamer from "The Invitation"

This well spring is flooding... it is overflowing and has no where to roam...
The soul yearns and churns as the froth of the crashing waves...
The rocks are dangerous...
The edge... the line drawn is so near... so very near...
...yet so, so far...

The sun has slowed... in prayer... I've experienced it...
Prayer always answered... never left to wonder...
...when sought out...

Lead in the way everlasting I pray...
Lead me beside the still waters...
Lead me in thy truth...

RISE ABOVE THE CIRCUMSTANCES

Old Jim was such a faithful horse,
But he was growing old;
And Uncle Lem made up his mind
The horse should not be sold

But turned out in the pastureland
To roam and feed at will.
Or rest beneath a shady tree,
Down by the waters still.

Lem loved his faithful servant, Jim,
And watched him day by day;
And when he whistled for his horse,
Jim gave an answering Neigh.

One day the horse had disappeared,
And Lem went out to see
What had become of faithful Jim,
Where could the creature be?

Lem thought about an abandoned well,
Which had uncovered been;
Lem hurried down the path to see--
Yes! Jim had fallen in!

If he should try to pull him out.
A leg might be broken be;
So he would go and fetch his gun
And end Jim's misery.

He brought his gun, but couldn't bear
To shoot old faithful Jim;
So brought his shovel and his pick
With which to bury him.

He took a shovelful of dirt
And rolled it in the well;
It rolled onto the horse's back
And to the bottom fell.

As fast as every load was sent,
Old Jim would stamp it down;
And as they both thus worked away,
At last the well was gone!

Out jumped the horse, all whole and sound,
Kicked up his heals and ran.
Let's get from out this simple tale
A lesson, if we can.

When people try to crush us down
And cover us with dirt,
Let's stamp it underneath our feet
And never let it hurt.

Let's be like Jim and rise above
The troubles that beset;
If we are on the side of right,
We'll gain the victory yet.

He Knows...

He Knows...

This was a poem a dear sister in the Lord gave to me today... she is a blessing and such a help.

He Knows
Author Unknown

He knows it all - the winding path,
The sky o'ercast and gray,
The steepness of the mountainside,
The roughness of the way.

He knows it all - the haunting fear,
The doubtings that distress,
The wond'rings and perplexities,
And all the strain and stress.

He knows it all - each troubled thought,
Each anxious wave of care,
And every burden, every grief,
Or cross that you must bear.

He know it all - your weight of woe,
Your often tear-dimmed eye,
The stabbing pain, the slow, dull ache,
And sorrow's broken cry.

He knows it all - He understands
The struggles that you face.
He knows it all!  He'll clasp your hand,
And help you win the race!

Until next time,
Jean

The Masterpiece

The Masterpiece
By Helen Steiner Rice

Framed by the vast, unlimited sky,
Bordered by mighty waters,
Sheltered by beautiful woodland groves,
Scented with flowers that bloom and die,
Protected by giant mountain peaks-
The land of the great unknown-
Snow capped and towering, a nameless place
That beckons man on as the gold he seeks,
Bubbling with life and earthly joys,
Reeking with pain and mortal strife,
Dotted with wealth and material gains,
Built on ideals of girls and boys,
Streaked with toil, opportunity's banner unfurled
Stands out the masterpiece of art
Painted by the one great God,
A picture of the world.

...thought provoking...

Until next time,

A poem by Helen Steiner Rice

"Love One Another As I Have Loved You"

Love one another as I have loved you
May seem impossible to do,
But if you will try to trust and believe,
Great are the joys that you will receive
For love makes us patient, understanding, and kind,
And we judge with our hearts and not with our minds,
For as soon as live entered the heart's open door,
The faults we once saw are not there anymore
And the things that seem wrong begin to look right
When viewed in the softness of love's gentle light
For love works in ways that are wondrous and strange,
And there is nothing in life that love cannot change,
And all that God promised will someday come true,
When you love one another the way He loved you.

Until next time,
Jean

Loving My Children...

My children are the love of my life... they are the stress of my days...
My children are a breath of fresh air and a sigh of exasperation...
My children are the joy of each day and the grief of my heart...
My children will own my heart no matter what...
 all the days of their lives.

Nobody Knows But Mother
Nobody knows of the work it makes
To keep the home together;
Nobody knows of the steps it takes,
Nobody knows- but mother.

Nobody listens to childish woes
Which kisses only smother;
Nobody's pained y naughty blows,
Nobody- only mother.

Nobody knows of the anxious fears
Lest darlings may not weather
The storm of life in after years,
Nobody knows- but mother.

Nobody knows of the sleepless care,
Bestowed on baby brother;
Nobody knows of the tender prayer
Nobody- only mother.

Nobody knows of the lessons taught
Of loving one another;
Nobody knows of the patience sought
Nobody- only mother.

Nobody kneels at the throne above
To thank the Heavenly Father
For the sweetest gift- mother's love,
Nobody can- but mother.

His Timing Is Never Wrong...

This is a poem that I just read off the cardboard insert from a calender that my daughter bought....

When the time was right,
the sea parted,
the walls fell down,
the lions went hungry,
the sun stood still,
the star appeared,
the waves were calmed,
the stone was rolled away,
the Lord ascended...

God is never early and He's never late-

He's always right on time and His plans for you are good.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,

plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Quoted from DaySpring.

Love Song...

Love Song...

How tedious and tasteless the hours,
When Jesus no longer I see!
Sweet prospects, sweet birds, and sweet flowers,
Have all lost their sweetness to me;
The midsummer sun shines but dim,
The fields strive in vain to look gay;
But when I am happy in Him,
December's as pleasant as May.

His name yields the richest perfume,

And sweeter than music His voice;
His presence disperses my gloom,
And makes all within me rejoice;
I should, were He always thus nigh,
Have nothing to wish or to fear,
No mortal so happy as I,
My summer would last all the year.

Content with beholding His face,

My all to His pleasure resigned;
No changes of season or place
would make any change in my mind;
While blest with a sense of His love,
A palace a toy would appear;
And prisons would palaces prove,
If Jesus would dwell with me there.

Dear Lord, if indeed I am Thine,

If Thou are my Sun and my Song,
Say, why do I languish and pine?
And why are my winters so long?
O drive these dark clouds from my sky;
The soul-cheering presence, restore;
Or take me to Thee up on high,
Where winter and clouds are no more.

"When We Are Weak" A Poem

Here is a poem that a dear friend gave to us...

When you are the neediest, He is the most sufficient.
When you are completely helpless, He is the most helpful.
When you feel totally dependent, He is absolutely dependable.
When you are the weakest, He is the most able.
Ween you are the most alone, He is intimately present.
When you feel the most useless, He is preparing you.
When it is the darkest, He is the only Light you need.
When you feel the least secure, He is your rock and fortress.
When you are the most humble, He is most gracious.
When you can't, He can.
 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.  Philippians 4:13 KJV
